Ministry Update

Homes of Hope

For the past couple of years I’ve joined Syrus’ middle school class on outreach and helped bring a team down to Mexico for Mission Adventures.

Mission Adventures is YWAM’s short term outreach for groups and they specialize in hosting church and youth group teams in Baja, Mexico. Combined with their Homes of Hope ministry the kids get to help build a home for a family in need over the week long outreach.

Families living in poverty in Baja, often times put together shelter with tarps, pallets, scrap wood and cardboard. Dirt floors are common, and these conditions are ripe for disease and illness. Homes of Hope comes in and offers free homes to the poorest of the poor and helps facilitate home builds for church groups, family teams and business teams year round. We’re so stoked that we get to join in again with a team from Aria’s middle school.

This trip almost didn’t happen. Originally we had a team of 15 but slowly people started dropping out and we ended up with 3 parents and 3 kids. Not sure if we could continue I was ready to pull the plug. One of the biggest concerns was: how do 3 of us commit to build a home and raise our trip costs as well as $12,000 for the home build? We met as a team, prayed, and felt like God wanted us to push forward. So we committed to the trip and a few days later a partner of one of the parents paid for the house build!
Praise God - we’re going to Mexico!

Now the remaining hurdle for Aria and I is ~$1,400 to cover the costs of the trip. A big thank you to everyone who’s already partnered with us to make this trip happen. Not everyone is able to go to serve on a trip like this, but as Christians we are all called to take the love and hope of Jesus to the nations. If you are able, would you consider partnering with Aria and I and contribute to our outreach to Mexico?

Mahalo,
Nick & Aria

If you'd like to partner with us you can give through our giving portal or through: https://www.givesendgo.com/homesofhope2025

We've raised $600 of the $2000 needed for the trip. Thank you for your gifts, every bit helps 🤙

If you missed last year's video from the outreach check out the video on our YouTube channel:

OUTPOST PANAMA is on an island called Bastiementos on the Caribbean Sea side of northern Panama, up near Costa Rica. The house, with room for 40, is perfectly situated in the jungle, nestled among many indigenous Ngobe Indian tribes. Completely off the grid we produce power by solar, catch rain water, and are surrounded by lush plants, fruit trees, and 3 streams on 8 acres of land. There are no roads and our only access is by water taxis that run in and out of town a 10-15 minute ride away. When we were given this property it was perfect because of its proximity to the Ngobe indian tribes scattered along the river systems of coastal Panama. With much of the Panamanian coastline undeveloped it could take up to a week to reach these tribes by land. With our partnerSHIP m/v Making Waves, we can pull up within a day and start ministry.
